I will be the first to admit it — I was RESISTANT to TikTok. I had an assumption that my ideal audience wouldn’t be there, it was for the younger crowd and quite frankly believed it wouldn’t last.

Until one day, I was chatting with a great friend of mine who was going on about how much fun she was having there. And not just that either — the customers she had generated from the platform hooked me in.

Why TikTok and Why Now?


Using TikTok is a great way to show another side of you and your brand. It allows you to build a niche community (if you choose to) and target a younger generation than say Facebook for example.

It’s described a fun platform for experimenting with video, and with the right strategy, you can use TikTok to attract customers and grow your business.

Why now?

Well, when TikTok first launched about 2 years ago, the truth is no one knew if it would stick around or not. You would probably agree with me at this stage that it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere AND it’s appealing to a much larger demographic than expected.

You can literally find anyone on there doing just about anything.

Be it singing, dancing, cooking, acting, laughing, traveling, DIY projects, telling jokes or using voice overs for the pets — it’s happening. TikTok has something for everyone and if I’m being honest it’s been a whole lot of fun.

More than that though — people are WINNING.

Let me explain.

4 Reasons I Believe you should be Leveraging TikTok


Video editing. Those two words together have always made me freak out inside a little bit (seriously!). Although I’m down to create and record videos the thought of editing was never my ‘thing‘. However, TikTok’s platform went and changed the game. I believe it is among the TOP video editing app available right now.

Some examples of that with the touch of a button;

  1. Music and Sounds
  2. Transitions and Filters
  3. Trimming and Thumbnails


… and more (without question) but I mention these because anywhere else it felt like a chore to me. It felt like there with 10,000 steps to an end product I was happy with where with TikTok I can record, edit and publish within minutes. THAT is something I can get behind.

Let’s talk briefly about the algorithm. 


Here’s what we know for sure; the TikTok algorithm is helping even the newest person win. Which also ties into the ability to produce viral videos. If you are producing regular content, using their trending sounds and ‘challenges’ you have as good of chance as the next person to show up on the newsfeeds and ‘for you pages’.

We’ve seen clients go from 0 followers to thousands literally overnight because of ONE video.

There is no other platform out there that does this. Typically, the algorithms are favored to influencers, ad spend or your engagement on the platforms. TikTok stepped into a league of their own here.

The last thing I want to mention in this post to wrap things up is this;



TikTok is 100% a platform that you can totally be YOU. In fact, you’re encouraged to let loose a little bit, laugh tons and show a side of you that your audience may have not seen yet.
